About

Fierce, bold and edgy, Nicole’s work seeks to empower the individual who wears it….

The Process…The techniques used to create the jewelry include creating texture by embossing, roller printing or etching the metal; volume by forging with a hammer or die forming with hand made forms and a hydraulic press; and then using various tools such as a jewelers saw, drills, files and a torch to hand fabricate every piece. Nicole challenges herself to include intricate mechanisms that create movement in her pieces with rivets, springs and custom screws made by tap and die process. She often hand cuts and carves her own stones to fit the aesthetic of the piece. To create a more industrial look the pieces are often darkened using natural patinas. The entire process from design to the piece you will adorn can be long and arduous but adds to the uniqueness of every piece.

The Materials…Nicole loves to mix precious metals. She often fuses 22K gold dust, that she alloys herself, with Argentium, a special alloy of high karat (935) sterling silver. For more architectural lines she inlays 24K gold wire into silver. For more structural components she will use 14K or 18K gold. She seeks to use precious metal that is recycled when available and only works with conflict free diamonds.
